Who are we?

I thought I'd take a moment to let you all know a little bit about myself. I started off with some of my favorite things to post about and thought it may be a good time to tell you all who I am.
So I grew up in a rural area right outside of Charlotte, NC and have lived in the same general area for all of my long 30 years. My dad is a general contractor and has build hundreds of homes in his career and my mom has been a local real estate agent for most of my life. I always knew I wanted to get into interior design, even at a young age. We would go visit a new construction home that dad was building and I'd always say that dad will build them, mom will sell them, and I would decorate them.
In high school I was thrilled when I was able to take an interior design course and to date that was my favorite class in all of my schooling. When trying to decide what to do with my life and where I wanted to go to college, The Art Institute was a top choice as they offered an Interior Design program, however, when I thought about it and looked at my art skills (or lack thereof), I decided to go with my second choice.
So I spent the next 8 years or so working as a paralegal and then once my son was born, I decided to get my real estate license. Before his first birthday I was able to leave the corporate world and work for myself as a Realtor®.

I truly enjoy helping people buy their dream homes and I really felt my calling to be able to help people in that way. While I enjoyed real estate I always had design on the back burner.
Well, I had an amazing opportunity to stage a home for my parents at a beach home they had built with my brother and it was my time to shine! I was able to stage the home for not even half of what another local stager had quoted and I thought this was my opportunity to jump into my dream.
After a lot of prayers and a lot of thinking, I have started on this journey. What do I have to loose right? So here it goes, its my time to make it happen!
