and The Master Bath

Again with the navy blue but we thought it worked really well in the master bath. By the way, please ignore the smudges all of the mirror, apparently I didn't clean it very well before the photos were taken, whoops!
A lot of things were done with this remodel. When we bought the house there was an update vanity in here but it was AWFUL. We bought the home as a short sale and for anyone who doesn't know what that means is the seller and the bank own the home and the sellers were at the point of not caring with this house. They did everything possible to make a mess of the home before they had to move. Luckily we were able to purchase the home for a great price. Also, if I haven't mentioned it yet in the blog I am a licensed NC/SC Real Estate Broker so I live for finding a great deal, for myself and my clients. Sorry, had to do a little plug in there but back to the topic at hand....the vanity was replaced, toilet was replace (just because), mirror, shower curtain rod, light fixtures and lastly we PAINTED the tile! All of those things didn't happen on the same day but over time things were done here.
The vanity is the best replacement if you ask me. I found this small dresser at a local antique shop in Matthews, NC and I have to admit that I paid more than I wanted to for it. I was in a bit of a pinch and wanted to find just the right piece so this one won. I ordered the sink and the faucet from Amazon and then dad put it all together for me. When I started painting it I didn't really want to go all white. I actually fought myself on paining it at all but the bathroom was a little small so I felt the dark wood would make the room feel even smaller. So the white paint won there a bit too. I compromised and did the white on the sides but wanted to keep the top wood. When I started with the drawers I thought they looked ok wood as well. So that was the finished piece! Half white, half wood. The faucet was a little more modern than my normal style but I just thought it would add to the piece.

The light fixture was a Lowes find and the mirror came from Kirklands. Yes, I know, same old places but hey, when I know I can find great pieces at great prices why fight it?
So that leaves the tile. I saw someone do this to their floors and they added an awesome stencil to it but I am not that talented artistically. I settled for just doing a primer and white paint and I was very happy with how they turned out. Of course you could see every hair that fell from my head, but that was inevitable.
What do you think about the white floor? Did you notice all those smudges on the mirror? Ek!
