The front of our home was pretty cute. The stacked stone and the shakes gave it a little something to make it stand out. When I was trying to decide on a paint color for the front door I knew I needed to keep with the cute style.
If you look really closely you can see the blue frame around the window. The door was painted the blue color (the same color as the inside of the door) at first. I kept it that color for a few days but each time I drove up, I just didn't like it.
So, I decided to make a change. The grey color is very close to the shake color but a few shades darker. I chose that color so it would match and it would still pop a bit. When I start painting a door I taped off the glass to make sure I have clean lines. Well, on this day I was feeling a little too confident in my painting abilities and I thought I'd just give it a try without painters tape. I painted the door but left the frame and thought I'd paint it last. When I stepped back from the door a bit I actually LOVED how it looked with the blue frame. I decided to keep it that way and see how my husband liked it. I was pleased when he liked it too!
The front door was a big conversation starter for the neighbors and I. What do you think? Like the look or would you prefer it all one color?
