A little off my normal topic of home photos today as I share with you guys a little project I'm currently working on. I may tend to jump around a bit with my blog as I have quiet a few things going on at once so stay with me if I jump to a topic you aren't super interested in. Chances are I'll be back to your favorite subject soon enough ;)

So I have a little "gig" so to speak coming up in early November where I will be a vendor at a VERY large show in the area where I live. I made wreaths and signs and home decor items as well as being a real estate agent, mom, wife, design consultant, furniture rehabber, booth renter and a few more titles.

I was in the market for some fun items to make wreaths out of. I of course have made a few normal everyday wreaths but I am also making signs and frame wreaths. I have been searching everywhere and pricing items to try to allow for a good priced finished project but my supplies were showing to be on the pricy side. I did some more searching and thinking and I came upon these old wooden crates.

I was thrilled to learn the price of them and that I could use 1 crate to make 4 of my other pieces. I went and purchased 4 of them for someone near me and with a lot of elbow grease, sweat, and a few tears I have made a few pieces to get started.

I like the way these turned out and once I add some florals and a few feel good phrases they will be ready to go.

I was able to make 14 pieces out of the 4 crates. Unfortunately I need to make about 500 of these, so each day over the next few weeks I will be hammering, prying, stapling and glueing to get these guys complete. Stay tuned and I will show you all a finished piece soon!

What do you think of these? Do you like the look of them with the uneven edges and old nail holes?
