A welcoming home

When you enter someone’s home you usually make a first impression of what the rest of the home is going to look like and feel like. I always try to make the entry way feel welcoming and cozy.
At our new home we have somewhat of an odd space. We have a very tall lower level with beautiful high ceiling and the front door is this beautiful 8 foot glass door. The wall to the right when you walk in is very long and also high of course so it is a little tricky to find pieces that don’t get lost on the wall.
I am the type we’re when I come home the first thing I do is take my shoes off. I have also set my children up with that same idea. So as soon as they walk in they toss their shoes off and run in. We even have a boot tray on the front porch for our outside shoes. Living in the woods and now our little up and coming farm (haha) we have dirty shoes so to speak. So those live outside so we don’t track dirt in the house.
I found this awesome little cubby table at a local marketplace and it was perfect for our shoe basket! It was also under $100! The basket is from TJ Maxx and the rug I found on clearance at Target! I normally wouldn’t do a large rug by the front door but this one first the space perfectly! The bench is an old family piece and the pillow is from TJ Maxx. Lamp and pumpkins are also Target. The wall piece you guys have seen before as it was a DIY piece I did.
What do you guys think of the large rug by the front door?
