It's here, the first official day of fall has come and gone. Cue the pumpkins and pumpkin spice everything! Here in the south the perfect fall weather would be the mid 70's with cool evenings just perfect for a great bonfire. Like most people, I love the fall because those pesky summer flying bugs go away and the crisp chill in the air makes you want to cuddle up with a great cup of tea and snuggle loved ones. Another great thing about fall is the changing of the leaves.

This photo with the long gravel drive looks like the perfect place to watch the leaves change while enjoying a nice walk. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to visit the mountains and drive the parkway to admire the beautiful leaves of the North Carolina mountains. After driving the parkway we love to go walk around Bass Lake to see the ducks and toss rocks into the mountain springs.

Growing up in North Carolina we were lucky to have a family mountain home where we were able to enjoy the fall season while enjoying family time. A small town in the North Carolina mountains is a big part of my childhood and that town is Blowing Rock, NC. As a family we would visit our mountain home many times a year. The home was perfect for our family to all meet there and we enjoyed many breakfasts around the kitchen table. That was one of my grandfathers favorite things, cooking pancakes for his grandchildren.

What is your favorite season? Do you enjoy that season for the weather or for other reasons? Would love to hear from you guys. :)
